Walton and Hersham Reserves 2011- 2012

Saturday 27th August – Suburban League South Division

Corinthian Res 0-4 Walton and Hersham Res

A very accomplished performance by our Young reserves on their first away trip in the Suburban League. Walton started brightly and soon put the home team under pressure with some quick closing down and decent passages of play. This created a lot play with in the home sides half. After a string of corners Chas Goodchild scored the first goal with a well taken header slipping his marker in the box.

Walton sat back a little after the goal and with the half time looming scored there second. Jaymo Ellis was brought down in the box after a well timed run and a wonderful though ball from Courtney Warren. Paul Lapersonne was asked to take the resulting penalty, which was saved by the goal keeper.Jaymo Ellis latched onto the rebound and stroked the ball home, before lunging home defenders

HT 0-2

Walton started the second half brightly and were soon three up when Paul Lapersonne scored a brave header at the far post from a diagonal through ball from Harry Smart beating the keeper to send the ball into the vacant net.
Walton’s fourth and final goal was scored by Tom Hayden who latched onto a another diagonal through ball from the left by Harry Smart which Tom dribbled with pace into the back and cooly blasting the ball over the ongoing goal keeper to seal a very accomplished win on the road.
