“Amazing Grace” Golf Challenge & Gala Evening

Friday 20th May 2011

Please help us raise £40,000 so Grace can have a “life changing” operation in America. Grace is 7 years old and lives in Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex.

She is a bright, beautiful, funny and very determined little girl. She has a form of Cerebral Palsy, called Spastic Diplegia. Her family are trying to raise enough money for Grace to go to America so she can have an operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy or SDR for short. The operation is performed at the St Louis Children’s Hospital in Missouri. Dr Park has been performing this operation for over 28 years; he has operated on over 2,000 children with a 100% success rate. THIS OPERATION IS NOT AVAILABLE ON THE NHS.

The SDR operation will help Grace considerably. At the moment she wears leg splints every day to help her balance. She can walk but gets tired very easily, she often trips and falls. This is because the muscle tone in her legs is always very tight. Any physical activity needs her to work extra hard and even though she always tries her best sometimes she feels very upset that she can’t be like her friends.
