Friendly: Hanworth Villa

Friday 29 July 2011. Pre-Season Friendly.

Hanworth Villa 4 Walton & Hersham 1.

A Swans’ side comprising mainly trialists, reserves and young players not surprisingly put on a shapeless performance against their Combined Counties League hosts, although two late goals somewhat flattered the home side.

Villa went ahead after 12 minutes when the ball was given away in Swans’ defence and Sheikh Ceesay was lobbed from outside the box.
Some good play by Graeme Purdy on the right enabled him to get in a cross for Russell Pym to glance a header into the far corner to equalise after half an hour.

The home side went ahead again however just a minute into the second-half. Things got worse for Swans when keeper Ceesay suffered a bad ankle injury after 52 minutes as he rushed out to kick clear and a home forward followed through to catch him.
Following a series of substitutions Swans’ play became even more disjointed and they conceded two further goals inside the final three minutes.
