George Talbot

The Club is saddened by the news that former player and manager George Talbot passed away on Monday at the age of 66.

George had great success as a player with Staines Town in the late 1960s and the 1970s, playing a key part in their numerous successes during that period and their rise in non-league football. He then moved to Stompond Lane and later became manager of Swans during the 1978-79 season before taking over that role at his old club Staines Town in 1980. After two seasons he went on to coach and manage at Hounslow, Addlestone & Weybridge Town, Ruislip, Harefield United and Uxbridge, where he spent 13 seasons, again having great success. He retired from football after a season as assistant manager at Burnham in 2005/6.

The Club extends its deepest condolences to George’s family during this difficult period.
