Walton & Hersham FC partners with Rentstart to help tackle homelessness

Walton & Hersham FC are delighted to announce a new partnership supporting Rentstart.

Rentstart are a charity helping local people in the borough of Elmbridge who are homeless or vulnerably housed. Each year they house and support around 150 people and help them move on with their lives.

The charity works with Landlords to support those who are facing homelessness or vulnerably housed with access to the private rented sector. Their work usually involves support with deposits and finding affordable rent, but they’re highly flexible and person-focused.

They also work with other organisations such as Streetlink to discover who is homeless in the community and what their steps out of homelessness are.

Of the 153 people Rentstart housed in 2019-20, 31% are now in work and 28% are saving every month towards their own deposit when they are able to move on from their support.

The charity recently moved into a building on Walton High Street where they have created a dignified place for people who need their help, and to help break the cycle of homelessness.

The club is looking forward to supporting Rentstart with the inspirational work they do for the community.

If you would like to learn more about their work or think you might be able to support them, please find them at:

May I just say what a comfort to find someone who truly understands what they are talking about on the internet. You certainly realize how to bring a problem to light and make it important. More people have to check this out and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you are not more popular since you certainly possess the gift. Lishe Maximilien Jonie
