Joey brings a wealth of experience and pedigree to a new-look Swans squad, having played exclusively at National League and EFL levels throughout his career. Having made nearly 200 National League appearances for Woking between 2013 and 2018, he will no doubt be a familiar face to followers of non-league football in Surrey.

Following his successful spell at Woking, Joey moved to fellow National League side Eastleigh, before making the step up to EFL level with League Two outfit Salford City. Following his stint at Salford City he returned to the National League, with spells at Dag & Red, Grimsby Town, Solihull Moors, and most recently Altrincham.

With a wealth of high-level footballing experience and a recently-secured UEFA A coaching license, Joey will also play a significant hand in coaching at the club, supporting Billy and Darren in a player/coach role with the First Team. In addition to his senior role, Joey will take up a key coaching role in the U18 Academy setup, contributing to the club’s burgeoning development pathway.

Joey expressed his excitement for his new roles and for the upcoming season: “I’m delighted to have joined Walton & Hersham and can’t wait to get to work with Billy and the boys. Having recently moved into the local area and having heard so many great things about the setup, it was a no-brainer for me to join the club. I’m confident we can have a fantastic season, and I am really looking forward to getting started in my roles as both a player and a coach”.

First Team manager Billy Rowley shared his excitement about Joey’s signing: “Having been in talks for a number of weeks, we’re thrilled to have now secured Joey’s services at the club. In addition to his experience and pedigree, Joey offers significant versatility to the team, with his ability to operate from both defence and midfield. His deep love for the game and top-level experience will bring sizeable benefits to both the First Team and development pathway, and we can’t wait to have him in action.”

All at Walton & Hersham extend a warm welcome to Joey, and wish him the very best in his new roles at the club.
