The Swans come into today’s match off the back of a strong performance at home to National League side Wealdstone, with the Swans being forced to settle for a 3-3 draw after taking a 3-1 lead at the start of the second half.
The match saw Josh Tobin continue his strong run of goal-scoring form, picking up from where he left last season, with an early headed goal from an Adam Mekki set-piece. There were also debuts for several newly-arrived Swans players, as well as strong performances from a number of trialists, two of whom ended up on the scoresheet.
The Swans will also no doubt be looking forward to seeing both Archie Procter and Joey Jones in action today, who were both unavailable last week.
The Vale have been victorious in their two pre-season friendlies so far, and off the back of their recent win at Erith Town in a 3-1 victory last Saturday will be looking to continue their
early vein of good pre-season form against the Swans.
Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can pick up their first win of pre-season this afternoon, with a number of new faces also expected to make their first Swans appearances today.
Head-to-head
Walton & Hersham have faced off against Saturday’s opposition just seven times in history, with the first meeting coming in the 2016-17 season. The Swans have won four of these matches, with the Vale being victorious in just two. The last meeting between the two sides came in April 2022, and saw the Swans hang on for a 1-0 win courtesy of an early Harry Mills penalty, securing a second straight promotion and a return to Step 4.
