The Swans travel to face Plymouth Parkway on Saturday afternoon, having beaten Hanworth Villa 4-2 in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round in their last outing. Billy Rowley’s side overcame the Villains in extra time, after overturning a second-half deficit against them for the second time in five days.

Johl Powell put the Swans ahead with ten minutes remaining of the first half, but this lead soon evaporated after the break when a swift Hanworth double had the visitors leading 2-1. Eight minutes from the final whistle, Elliott Bolton’s scuffed volley from the edge of the box caught out the Hanworth ‘keeper and rolled over the line to level the score. In the first half of extra time, Alex Body won a penalty and Nana Owusu emphatically dispatched it to put the Swans in the lead once again. Late on in the second half, Owusu did brilliantly to get in behind the Villains’ defence, and calmly slot the ball past the ‘keeper to seal the deal for Walton & Hersham, setting up a mouthwatering tie at home to Farnborough in the following round next Saturday.

Plymouth Parkway are currently sat in 20th position in the Southern League Premier Division South, having failed to win in their opening five matches. The Devon side were victorious in their last outing, beating Baffins Milton Rovers 4-1 in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round.

Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can build on their FA Cup success in order to continue their winning run in the league. The Swans will also be bolstered by the return of Dawid Rogalski, who missed Tuesday’s FA Cup replay through suspension, having been sent off a week prior against Chertsey Town.

Head-to-head
Walton & Hersham have met Plymouth Parkway just twice, with both encounters coming in the league last season. The Parkway were victorious 2-1 at the Hub in November, having netted a stoppage time winner. The Swans failed to avenge this with their trip to Plymouth in April, where they initially took a 2-0 lead but could not hold on. Josh Tobin opened the scoring with a sensational effort from near the halfway line, but two late goals from the hosts ensured that the points were shared.
