The Swans head to Tonbridge Angels in FA Cup action on Saturday afternoon, and will be looking to return to form having had their 10-game unbeaten run ended by a 1-0 defeat away to Basingstoke Town on Tuesday night.

It was a tightly contested game in Hampshire, and a first-half goal from ‘Stoke defender Billy Upton was all that separated the sides. The Swans put plenty of pressure on the hosts but could not find a way through, and ultimately fell to their first defeat since the opening day of the season.

Tonbridge Angels are currently sat in third position in the National League South, and were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Hampton & Richmond Borough in their last outing. The Kent side reached this stage of the competition having defeated Merstham 2-1 in the previous round.

Billy Rowley will be keen for his side not only to return to winning ways, but also make a statement as they chase another victory over high-performing Step 2 opposition.

Head-to-head
The two sides have met one another on five occasions to date, with the first meeting coming in the 1982-83 FA Cup, with Tonbridge prevailing 1-0 in a First Qualifying Round tie.

The two sides then met again twice in cup action in the 2005-06 season, this time in the FA Trophy, with the Swans prevailing at Stompond Lane on penalties in a replay.

The Swans and the Angels then met again the following season in league action, with the Swans winning the home match at Stompond Lane, following a 1-1 draw earlier in the season in Kent.
