The Swans head across to west Berkshire to face Hungerford Town on Saturday afternoon, as they look to return to winning ways following a 1-0 defeat at home to Taunton Town in their last outing. It was a tough one for the Swans on Tuesday night, as Taunton Town stood firm and limited Billy Rowley’s side to few opportunities. The Peacocks grabbed what turned out to be the winner early in the second half, when Alfie Moulden struck a great effort from the edge of the box into the far corner.

The defeat was the Swans’ first at home in eight months, and prevented them from putting a secure hold on their spot in play-off positions. Hungerford Town have not enjoyed the best of starts to their season, and are currently sat in 17th position. The Crusaders were held to a 1-1 draw by Tiverton Town last time out, extending their winless run to six games.

Billy Rowley will be wanting his side to bounce back from the defeat to Taunton in strong fashion, as the Swans head into the late Autumn period with a series of tough games on the horizon.

Head-to-head
This will be the Swans’ third visit to Hungerford Town, having won on both previous occasions. The first trip came in the 1996-97 Isthmian League Cup, resulting in a 1-0 victory
for the Swans. Nana Owusu was the star in his side’s second ever trip to the Crusaders last season as he netted the winner with a stunning free kick from long range. This secured a
double over Hungerford after the Swans won 4-1 at the Hub earlier in the campaign.
