We are delighted to announce that rising defensive star Eoin Bolger has signed his first senior contract with the club, that will see him remain at the Swans until May 2026.
Since making his first appearance for the Swans in December 2023 aged just 18, Bolger has rapidly grown into a pivotal piece in the Swans setup, complementing his sharp defensive skillset and situational awareness with a notable attacking presence, particularly though his exceptional set-piece deliveries.
First Team Manager Billy Rowley expressed his delight with Eoin’s decision to sign his first senior contract at Walton & Hersham: “Eoin showed up to 2023 pre-season as an unknown 17-year-old with no senior football experience, and that changed fast.
From day one, his attitude stood out, he smashed a brutal running test, turning heads with his grit and character. Then came the real surprise, his intelligence on the ball, the way he sees the game two steps ahead, the control and composure to dictate play under pressure. He’s a true gem of a player.
We’re buzzing to have him locked in through next season, and I’ve no doubt he’s got another level in him – watch this space.”
Club co-owner and director of football Calogero Scannella shared a similarly upbeat message: “The signing of Eoin [Bolger] marks an important moment for the club. The aim at Walton & Hersham has always been to create an attractive environment for players to develop, and Eoin’s rapid development and outstanding performances this season have been testament to this.
Billy [Rowley] is a huge reason for this, and it’s been extremely positive to see how much his training and philosophy has resonated with Eoin over the past 18 months – it really bodes well for the future.
I really think that Eoin can serve as a shining example to other young players in non-league, and we’re very much looking forward to seeing him continue his progress with us.”
Bolger also expressed his excitement, following his decision to put pen to paper with the club until 2026: “I’m really pleased to be able to commit to the club for the next 18 months. I’m really relishing the opportunity to develop even further as a player under this management group, and hope to kick on both individually and with the team, as we are also looking to get into the play-offs come the end of the season.
All at Walton & Hersham would like to congratulate Eoin on signing his first senior contract, and wish him the best of luck over the upcoming 18 months at the club.
