The Swans welcome Frome Town to the Xcel Sports Hub on Saturday afternoon as they look to continue their superb start to 2025 having secured another dramatic win last time out. In a rescheduled local derby, the Swans were the victors as they came away from Chertsey Town with a 2-1 win. Johl Powell continued his recent heroics in front of goal when he put his side ahead just after the half-hour mark. Kai Jennings found him with a brilliant through-ball before Powell calmly slot past the ‘keeper. The hosts equalised minutes before the break however when a corner ended up in the back of the net. Both sides pushed hard for a winner throughout the second half, but it was the Swans who won it in stoppage time… once again. Jennings’ corner bounced around the box before it fell for Powell to tap home yards from goal and win it.

Frome Town have struggled with life in the Southern League Premier Division South having been promoted last season. The Robins currently sit in the relegation zone and have won just one of their last five games. The two sides met earlier in the season with the Swans being held to a 2-2 draw at Frome. A turnaround, courtesy of goals from Nana Owusu and Dawid Rogalski, was thwarted when the hosts grabbed a late equaliser.

With the end of the season drawing nearer, Billy Rowley will be keen for his side to secure another important win as they look to keep a strong hold on fifth place in the hunt for the play-offs. He will have another new face to call upon for Saturday’s game, after experienced left-sided defender/midfielder Bobby-Joe Taylor joined the club on loan from Dorking Wanderers.

Head-to-head
This will be just the second meeting between Walton & Hersham and Frome Town, with the first ever encounter coming at Badgers Hill earlier in the campaign, ending in a 2-2 draw.
