The Swans are back on the road as they make the long trip to face Taunton Town off the back of a 2-0 home victory over Poole Town.

It wasn’t the easiest of games for the Swans as they were made to work hard for the three points. Their breakthrough came in the 21st minute thanks to a piece of magic from the team. Dawid Rogalski played a perfectly placed trivela pass for Bobby-Joe Taylor who cut inside and skipped past two defenders before firing in to the back of the net. Poole caused problems in the second half but some resilient defending ensured the Swans remained ahead. A swift break led by debutant Wayne Ridgley and Johl Powell ended in the latter winning a penalty, which Rogalski calmly put away.

Taunton have enjoyed a good season so far and are currently sat in eighth place as they fight for a top-half finish. The Peacocks have struggled in recent weeks however as they find themselves on a five-game winless run.

It was Taunton who came out on top in the meeting between these two sides earlier in the season. Alfie Moulden struck early in the second half to ensure the Peacocks left the Hub and took three points back to Somerset.

Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can kickstart another winning run against Taunton having bounced back against Poole. The Swans will have an exciting new squad member to turn to following the recent signing of Samuel Faniyan from Gosport Borough.

Head-to-head

This will be just the third encounter between Walton & Hersham and Taunton Town. Their first meeting came in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round in October 2022 when the Peacocks secured a 1-0 victory.
