The Swans turn their attention back to the Surrey Senior Cup on Tuesday night as they head to nearby Leatherhead for a crunch semi-final clash.
It was a first defeat of 2025 for the Swans in their last outing as they fell to a 1-0 loss at the hands of Dorchester Town. The first half saw a great tactical matchup with both sides cancelling each other out for much of the 45. Following the break, Johl Powell was put into the box by Joey Jones but a good save from the Dorchester ‘keeper denied him. The hosts then drew first blood on the hour mark, taking the lead from the penalty spot. A Dawid Rogalski handball presented Olaf Koszela the chance to convert the eventual winner from 12 yards.
Leatherhead have enjoyed a good season so far, currently sat eighth in the Isthmian League South Central Division as they try to push for a play-off finish. The Tanners managed a 2-1 win over Hanworth Villa last time out and reached this stage of the competition following a penalty shootout win over Redhill.
With a place in the final against either Dorking Wanderers or Carshalton Athletic at stake, Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can bounce back from their defeat to Dorchester with what would be a huge cup win.
Head-to-head
Considering their close proximity, it comes as no surprise that Leatherhead are familiar opponents to the Swans. The two sides have met no fewer than 90 times since their first meeting in this competition in the 1946-47 season.
Walton & Hersham came up against the Tanners at the end of their pre-season campaign with Joey Jones scoring a 90th minute equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw at Fetcham Grove.
