The Swans are back in league action as they welcome Wimborne Town to the Xcel Sports Hub off the back of a Surrey Senior Cup win over South Park Reigate.
Mason Obeng got the Swans up and and running against the Sparks on the half hour mark when he was put through on goal by Anis Nuur before slotting calmly past the goalkeeper. Despite dominating the second half, the Swans were kept at bay but Jos Barker had to be called into action in stoppage time to deny the visitors an equaliser with a good save. Alex Body made it 2-0 just moments later to seal the win and put the Swans into the semi-finals of the competition.
Wimborne Town have enjoyed a good season so far following their promotion from the Southern League Division One South. The Magpies currently sit in eighth and are on a 10-game unbeaten run.
It was the Swans who prevailed in the meeting between these two sides earlier in the season, cruising to a 4-0 victory at the Wyatt Homes Stadium back in August. Goals from Nana Owusu and Anis Nuur put their side two to the good at half-time before second half finishes from Dawid Rogalski and Cam Thompson sealed the points.
Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can return to winning ways in the league after being thwarted by Basingstoke last time out. The recent progression to the county cup semi-finals should act as a great morale booster for the Swans.
Head-to-head
This will be just the second encounter between Walton & Hersham and Wimborne Town with the first meeting coming earlier this campaign.
