The Swans are back on the road as we travel to Dorchester Town on Saturday afternoon, looking to return to winning ways following a 1-0 defeat to Hanwell Town last time out.
Alfie Pendlebury was the difference maker in our first away game of the season as his goal midway through the first half secured a slender victory for the Geordies. Our opponents were sent down to 10 men following the break, but held firm as we failed to find an equaliser, albeit being denied a penalty late on.
Dorchester are winless in their opening two games, having lost 3-1 at home to Tiverton Town in their last outing following a 0-0 draw with newly promoted Uxbridge in their first match of the campaign.
Swans manager Billy Rowley will be hoping we can bounce back from our loss to Hanwell Town against an opponent that will provide a tough test.
Head-to-head
Having first encountered Dorchester during the 2023/24 campaign, we have met them on four occasions to date, winning two of those meetings.
We were winless against the Magpies last season however. Our matchup at the Hub ended in a 2-2 draw with Swans goalkeeper Jos Barker stealing the headlines as he netted a dramatic equaliser in the dying moments of extra-time. The return fixture in Dorset saw Dorchester break our 18-game unbeaten streak with a tight 1-0 win.
Match information
The game will kick off at 3pm on Saturday 16th August, at the Avenue Stadium, Weymouth Avenue, Dorchester – DT1 2RY. Tickets are available to purchase on the day at the gate, with either cash or card.
