The Swans bring our pre-season campaign to an end as we welcome Hanworth Villa to the Xcel Sports Hub on Saturday.
We continued our winning form in our last outing as we defeated Waltham Abbey 2-0. Jack Wood opened the scoring when he robbed the Abbotts’ defender of the ball before slotting into an empty net for his first Swans goal. Our dominance continued after half-time before we won a penalty, which Anis Nuur coolly converted to seal our second victory of pre-season.
Hanworth, led by ex-Swans manager Simon Haughney, held National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough to a 0-0 draw in their last outing, bringing an end to a three-game winning run of dominant victories.
As we conclude our final game of our pre-season campaign, Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can end on a high before beginning the new season next week.
Head-to-head
The Swans have met Hanworth Villa on 12 occasions since our first encounter during the 2016/17 Combined Counties League Premier Division season. We have been victorious in seven of the meetings and have lost just four.
Our last matchup was a thrilling FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round tie last season, where we secured a 4-2 replay victory at the Hub following a 3-3 draw in the initial game.
The most famous encounter came at the end of the 2022/23 season, when we were 3-1 victors in the play-off final of the Isthmian League South Central Division, firing us into the Southern League Premier Division South.
