The Swans host Hanwell Town at the Hub on Tuesday evening, having made the long trip back from Plymouth Parkway with a 2-1 victory on Saturday. Billy Rowley’s side extended their winning run in the league to five games with the victory in Devon.

Dawid Rogalski opened the scoring for the Swans after collecting the ball on the rebound, following an initial cross from Jaden Crowhurst. The hosts then pegged Walton & Hersham back with an equaliser from the penalty spot through their skipper Shane White, with a little under ten minutes of the first half remaining. After soaking up pressure from Parkway, a swift Swans counter-attack on the stroke of half-time resulted in Rogalski slotting the ball past Ewan Griffiths to restore his side’s lead. A brave second-half display helped the Swans see out the win, aided by a moment of brilliance from Jos Barker, who made a heroic stop in the final minute of stoppage time to deny the hosts what seemed a certain equaliser.

The win saw Walton & Hersham leapfrog AFC Totton to go top of the Southern League Premier Division South, capitalising on the Stags’ slip-up at home to Basingstoke Town. Rogalski’s brace also meant that the ‘Polish Pele’ has now scored in six consecutive games for the Swans, a feat he will no doubt be proud of.

Hanwell Town currently sit in sixth position in the league and will be looking to break into the play-off spots when they face the Swans on Tuesday. The Geordies played out a riveting 3-3 draw away to Taunton Town in their last outing.

Billy Rowley will be eager for his Swans side to continue their marvellous run of form and maintain their lead at the top of the table. Maintaining the winning run is even more crucial with an FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie against Farnborough just around the corner.

Head-to-head
Walton & Hersham have encountered Hanwell Town on just two occasions, with both meetings coming in the league last season. The Swans were victorious in their trip to the Geordies, winning 2-1, courtesy of a late goal from Stefan Ilic. Hanwell got their revenge upon their visit to the Hub however, being victorious by the same scoreline but securing the three points in immensely controversial circumstances.
