The Swans travel to face Basingstoke Town on Tuesday evening as they look to get back to winning ways, following a 1-1 draw at Poole Town on Saturday afternoon.
It was a display of dominance by the Swans in the first half against Poole, which saw them take an early lead inside ten minutes. A cross by Eoin Bolger was met by the heel of Dan Rowe, who flicked the ball over the Dolphins’ goalkeeper to net his first goal for the club in brilliant fashion. The Swans continued to dominate after scoring the opener, but could not extend their lead, despite a number of golden opportunities. They were made to pay in the second half as a much-changed home side equalised with 15 minutes to play, through a thumping volley by debutant Rafa Ramos. Both sides battled it out in the remaining minutes to share the points.
Basingstoke Town are currently sat in sixth position in the Southern League Premier Division South, and could break into the play-off spots with a positive result on Tuesday. Basingstoke are one of just two unbeaten sides remaining in the league alongside fellow Hampshire outfit Havant & Waterlooville, however will be looking to get back to winning ways having not won in their last five games in all competitions, most recently being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Sholing. The Swans remain in second position behind AFC Totton but will leapfrog the Stags into first place if they are victorious tomorrow evening.
Billy Rowley will be eager for his side to pick up three points on Tuesday evening, having drawn both of their last two league outings, despite taking the lead in both games.
