The Swans welcome Sutton Common Rovers to the Xcel Sports Hub on Tuesday evening, as they turn their attention to the Surrey Senior Cup. Billy Rowley’s side were held to a 2-2 draw by Frome Town in their last outing.
Last week’s match at Frome saw the Swans fall behind inside two minutes, before Nana Owusu equalised just ten minutes later. 20 minutes from full time, Jordan Esprit put his side in front, poking home after a free-kick bounced around in the box. Curtis Hutson rescued a point for the hosts late on, as the Swans’ search for their first league win since September continued.
Sutton Common Rovers fell to defeat in their last game, suffering a 2-0 loss at home to Hanworth Villa. The Commoners have had a mixed start to the season, and will be hoping that they can change their luck in the cup.
Billy Rowley will be keen for his side to pick up a positive result, bolstered by the return of Josh Tobin from suspension, as they look to get back to winning ways heading into a tough November period.
Head-to-head
The Swans have faced Sutton Common Rovers on nine occasions, with their first encounter coming in the 2016-17 season. The Commoners have a slight advantage overall, having won five of the meetings, with the Swans being victorious in four. The two sides last met in January 2023, with SCR being defeated 2-0, courtesy of goals from Harry Mills and John Gilbert.
