The Swans welcome Taunton Town to the Xcel Sports Hub on Tuesday evening, coming off the back of their first league win since September, a 2-0 victory over Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday afternoon.
It was a tightly contested game at times against Havant & Waterlooville, and the Swans required a moment of magic to break the deadlock. With just under half an hour to play, Eoin Bolger picked the ball up around 30 yards out and set himself, before firing a sensational effort into the top corner. The Swans doubled their advantage soon after when Nana Owusu rolled the ball past the Hawks’ keeper for Tom Olyott to poke it over the line. A maiden goal for two Swans players helped them to a victory that reignited their early-season winning form, propelling them back up to fifth.
Taunton Town have had a mixed start to their campaign after suffering relegation from the National League South last season. The Peacocks drew 1-1 with Bracknell Town in their last outing, leaving them in 13th place.
Billy Rowley will be eager for his side to assemble another winning run, having overseen his side’s first league victory since early September in their previous game.
Head-to-head
The Swans have met Taunton Town just once in their history. The sole meeting came in October 2022, a 1-0 away defeat in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round.
