The Swans travel to Sholing this evening for a rescheduled game, after the initial fixture was postponed due to a frozen pitch last month.

There was no dramatic win for the Swans last time out, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Frome Town. The first half saw Dawid Rogalski forced off with an injury after just 25 minutes, amid some good chances for the Swans. The two sides went into the break goalless however, but it was the visitors who broke the deadlock 15 minutes into the second half. Debutant Bobby-Joe Taylor led his new side’s hunt for an equaliser, going close to scoring on a number of occasions, before his pass to Johl Powell ended in the latter winning a penalty. Powell stepped up to take the spot kick, and coolly converted to level the score. The Swans put plenty of pressure on the Robins, but were kept out and had to settle for a point.

Sholing have seen an improvement in form over the past weeks, winning their last three games. Their latest success, a 3-0 win over Chertsey Town, saw them rise to 12th in the league table.

The Swans met Sholing at the Hub back in November and secured a last-gasp 2-1 win. Dawid Rogalski put his side ahead late in the first half only for ex-Southampton player Jake Hesketh to equalise for the Boatmen with fifteen minutes remaining. As the clock hit the 90th minute, Mason Obeng played a high corner into the box that was met by Joey Jones at the back post. The skipper headed into the net to win it for the Swans.

With the Swans still in fifth place, Billy Rowley will be hoping his side can return to winning ways tonight and continue their fine run of recent form, in order to maintain their advantage in the race for the play-offs.

Head-to-head
Walton & Hersham have met Sholing on three occasions to date and have won each of those encounters. Their first set of meetings came last season with the Swans winning both fixtures 1-0, before securing a 2-1 win at the Hub earlier this season.
