The Swans play host to Poole Town at the Xcel Sports Hub on Saturday afternoon as they look to return to winning ways having battled to a 3-3 draw at Hanwell Town last time out.
Despite a good start from the Swans, it was the hosts who struck first through Joseph Waight, who tapped in from close range following a corner. Bobby-Joe Taylor levelled it up soon after when he caught the goalkeeper out with a free kick from the right edge of the box to net his first goal for the club. The Swans completed a turnaround minutes later after Ralph Vigrass saw his effort deflect past the ‘keeper to make it 2-1.
Hanwell made a comeback of their own after the break when Ryan Cole pounced on a rebound to smash an equaliser past Laurence Shala. Dan Carr then put the Geordies back in the driving seat with a fine first-time effort from the edge of the box. The Swans pushed to level matters and broke through with 15 minutes remaining courtesy of a brilliant set piece move. Mason Obeng played a corner short before finding Thabo Kuaho with an intricate pass who then played a low cross for Johl Powell to fire in.
Poole Town have had a difficult season and currently sit 19th, two points adrift of safety. The Dolphins secured a win in their last game however, defeating fellow strugglers Winchester City 3-2.
It was all square between the two sides in their meeting earlier this season. The Swans took an early lead through a brilliant flick by Dan Rowe but debutant Rafa Ramos fired in a long-range strike to ensure the points were shared.
With the Swans still in third place, Billy Rowley will be wanting his side to bounce back from their draw at Hanwell with a good performance against Poole Town. Rowley will have a new face to call upon in the form of Wayne Ridgley, who signed from local rivals Chertsey Town this week.
Head-to-head
Walton & Hersham met Poole Town for the first time last season and have faced off three times in total. The Swans completed a league double over the Dolphins, securing a 3-1 win at Tatnam Ground before producing a good final day display to cruise to a 3-0 victory at the Hub.
