The Swans welcome Gloucester City to the Xcel Sports Hub on Wednesday night for a momentous matchup in the semi-final of the promotion play-offs.

They signed off from the league campaign with a 4-2 win over Swindon Supermarine last time out. Dawid Rogalski put the Swans ahead from the penalty spot in the first half before Kai Jennings doubled the lead midway through the second 45. The visitors pulled one back through Olly Mehew but late goals from Mason Obeng and Ralph Vigrass sealed a convincing victory. Ryan Campbell nicked another consolation for the Marine in stoppage time.

Gloucester City come into this game on a three-game unbeaten streak, but were held to a 2-2 draw by Gosport Borough in their last game. The Tigers enjoyed dominant victories over Swindon Supermarine and Marlow as part of the mini run, defeating the latter 7-0.

This season’s two meetings between the Swans and Gloucester saw plenty of drama and goals. The first encounter at the Hub ended in a 4-4 draw with much influence coming from Storm Bert. The Swans managed to secure a late win in the return fixture however with Dawid Rogalski scoring in the final minutes to snatch all three points.

With the prospect of reaching the play-off final in mind, Billy Rowley will be wanting his players to be on top form for what is certain to be a tough test.
