The Swans turn our attention back to the league on Saturday afternoon as we host Wimborne Town at the Xcel Sports Hub.
We secured our spot in the First Round of the FA Trophy last time out with a penalty shootout win over Hayes & Yeading United. An uneventful game ended 0-0 with spot kicks needed to decide the victor. After Jack Wood missed the chance to win us the game, Jos Barker got down well to save the hosts’ fifth effort and send us to the next stage.
Wimborne Town also enjoyed victory in the Trophy in their previous game as they defeated Dorset rivals Weymouth 2-0. Late goals from Max Bustamante and Josh Carmichael secured the win for the Magpies.
Billy Rowley will be eager for us to continue our good form as we look to extend our lead at the top of the league table.
Head-to-head
We have met Wimborne just twice previously with those encounters coming last term. An early season trip to Dorset ended in a dominant 4-0 win for us before we made a late comeback in the home fixture to secure a 2-1 victory.
