The Swans make the short trip to Farnham Town on Tuesday night looking to make it 10 wins in a row in the league.
We secured a hard-fought victory last time out as we came away from Yate Town with a 2-1 win. Jack Wood put us ahead with a fine effort minutes into the second half before Mason Obeng doubled our lead with a brilliant solo strike. Our number seven beat multiple defenders for pace to race onto a long ball and through on goal, eventually rounding the ‘keeper with great skill and tucking into the net.
It was a nervy end to proceedings though as the hosts were controversially awarded a penalty in stoppage time. Joey Jones was deemed to have handled the ball and was shown a second yellow card as a result. Marlon Jackson converted the spot kick to give the Bluebells hope, but we saw out the lengthy period of added time to seal the win.
Having not played in the league for almost a month due to cup involvement, Farnham were stunned in their return to action at the weekend. Bottom-half Weymouth came away from the Memorial Ground with a shock 3-2 win to end Farnham’s unbeaten start to the campaign.
Billy Rowley will be eager for us to secure another victory with the chance of extending our lead at the top of the league table.
